Day of Fun at the PCIA with the American Cancer Society!
The American Cancer Society invited you to Sweep Away Cancer at a Broomball Tournament held January 26th, 2020 at 12:30pm at The Piscataquis County Ice Arena. Hosted by the PCIA, the Foxcroft Academy Key Club, and the ACS, this tournament took gliding on ice up a notch. Moving around the ice surface using your own boots or shoes (no ice grippers) while wearing the certified helmet of your choice (bicycle, skate board, snow board, ski, hockey, etc). Participants layered their clothing because when the action "Heated Up," they needed the ability to "Cool Off." We had the sticks; you brought the energy! Each team of 5 players had the opportunity to participate in this fun tournament to help Sweep Away Cancer. Participants honored a cancer survivor, remembered loved ones, or supported someone currently battling cancer. A Pizza Buffet, offered by Pat's Pizza, was followed by a Public Skate and a Lighting of the Luminary Ceremony for those participating and in attendance.
