To All Patrons of the PCIA,
We appreciate the support from those who’ve taken part in the previous activities we’ve hosted as well as those who will be a part of the PCIA’s future. During these times, we know the PCIA needs enhanced processes and procedures to help ensure the health and safety of all who are able to utilize the Arena, whether on or off-ice. Covid-19 has caused many of us to change the way we interact within our communities just as changes have been made in many (if not all) of our businesses, churches, and other public spaces. Some of these changes are minor on the grand scheme, but others represent a total “180,” or reversal, in how we operate. Although “things” may be different, we’re working hard to ensure the PCIA will still be on Mission:
The Piscataquis County Ice Arena will provide an environment where the people within our county, and beyond, can coexist and prosper in physical health, foster personal connections, and improve overall mental well being. From on-ice activities to connections made at our NxtLvl tables, all in our Piscataquis County communities will have the opportunity to contribute.
We appreciate the support of those who’ve supported us, including our sponsors, and we are excited to be in the beginning phases of our reopening. Thank you, in advance, for your patience in learning these new processes and procedures and for participating in the reopening of the PCIA!
Upon Returning to the PCIA, BE PREPARED:
- Face Masks must be worn while in the facility.
- Anyone who feels, has, or seems to have any signs of sickness needs to stay away
- It is mandated that all out of state travelers coming into Maine, as well as Maine Residents returning to Maine, complete a 14 Day Quarantine upon arrival. Exempted States = NH & VT
- Those entering/exiting the PCIA will do so at the designated locations as per guidelines
- Do not cross any barriers or access areas “closed off” to public traffic
- The number of Spectators allowed in the facility will be limited; limit parent/guardian attendance to 1 (maximum) per family. The Spectators will view from the ice-level area and will be directed there from the Lobby upon entering the facility. LiveBarn is available for those who will not be able to attend.
- Programming will be designed to minimize participant contact throughout the building including in common areas.
- Lost & Found Items will be discarded as per Covid-19 guidelines
- Cash Transactions will be limited; Customer Purchases, including Sessions (Public Skate, Stick & Puck, etc) will be purchased through our online Client Portal located at thepcia.ezfacility.com
- Social Distancing according to the State’s Covid-19 Guidelines will be followed, both on and off-ice
- Locker Rooms will be closed and not available for use. On-Ice participants should enter the building fully dressed. A designated area will be available to lace-up your skates. Other than coaches, referees, and Goalies all hockey bags to remain in vehicles.
- The PCIA requests you come dressed and prepared for your activity, changing only into your skates/required footwear and that you plan on leaving the facility in the same manner.
- Cleaning of previously utilized spaces will be accomplished with regularity
- Designated Restrooms will be available and cleaned/maintained according to the guideline provided.
- Multiple Hand Sanitizing stations are located throughout the facility and are recommended for use as needed.
- Frequent Hand Washing is recommended and needs to be accomplished thoroughly for at least 20 seconds utilizing soap and water, especially after using the restroom, blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, or prior to eating/touching food.
- Food, not sold at or provided by the Arena or a caterer registered with the PCIA, will no longer be allowed at the facility.
- No sharing of water bottles. The water fountains have been disabled per Covid-19 Protocols. Drinks are available for purchase.
- Organizers of group rentals (coaches, etc) will turn in an attendance which includes date and time of session, participant name and contact info. This information will help to reduce exposure if needed.
- Follow USA Hockey, State of Maine, individual Youth Hockey Association Covid-19 Guidelines when participating on the ice.
- Limit the number of Players & Coaches on the bench and reduce group sizes by utilizing “Stations.”
- The employees of the PCIA have been trained in Covid-19 protocol and will adhere to the standards set by the State’s Guidelines to the best of their ability.
